Whether from colder temperatures or a puncture from a nail on the road, tire pressure can get low for a variety of reasons. Making sure your tire pressure is correct helps keep your vehicle’s performance and safety in check. Luckily, checking tire pressure is easy with the Mercedes-Benz Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Learn more about how to check tire pressure on your Mercedes-Benz below!

When to Check Tire Pressure on Your Mercedes-Benz

To keep your tire pressure at the correct level, as a general rule of thumb, you should check your tire pressure every month or so—and more frequently when the weather is cold. You can use the Mercedes-Benz Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to check your tire pressure easily and quickly.

How to Use the Mercedes-Benz Tire Pressure Monitoring System

  1. To check your tire pressure, first start your car.
  2. Next, locate the arrow buttons on the left-hand side of your steering wheel.
  3. Push the left or right button until “Service” is highlighted.
  4. Push the down button and highlight “Tire Pressure.”
  5. Then, press the “OK” button. The display will show your current tire pressure.

What to Do If Your Tire Pressure Is Low

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System has a “Check Tire Pressure Light” that will turn on if the tires are underinflated or overinflated. If this light is on, you should use a hand-held pressure gauge to check your tires. Then, adjust your tires to the recommended levels that are listed on the label inside of your fuel door. After you adjust your tires, check the “Tire Pressure” display to confirm your tires are at correct pressure levels. You may see a message that says, “Tire pressure will display after a few minutes.” If this is the case, drive around for a few minutes before checking again.
