Giving Back This Season

This holiday season, we highly encourage all those who can to give back to communities in need of holiday cheer.  Get involved this season and support organizations dedicated to providing resources to fulfill these communities with holiday joy.  If you’re looking for a local organization to help this holiday season, The Friendly Center of Orange has several events taking place now until the end of the year.

The Friendly Center is a family and community resource center dedicated to improving the lives of children, adults and seniors.  The organization offers more than 20 free programs and services to low-income families through its 6 locations here in Orange County.  Programs include emergency assistance, domestic violence intervention, counseling services, supplemental food programs and more.

This month, The Friendly Center is hosting their annual Turkey Basket Drive and asks anyone who can to help by donating a basket/box with food for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.  Over the past few years, The Friendly Center’s Turkey Basket Drive has helped feed several families in the Orange County area who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity of enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner.  For all those who can participate, The Friendly Center asks all food baskets/boxes be dropped off at their Orange and Placentia offices.  All baskets/boxes will be distributed to families of 4-6 the same day donors drop them off.  To find out The Friendly Center’s Orange and Placentia office addresses, view the list of suggested food items or for more information regarding this event and future events, visit www.friendlycenter.org.
