25th Annual Jones Cup Golf Tournament

The 25th Annual Jones Cup golf tournament between the Club Champions and Club Professional teams from Big Canyon, Mesa Verde, Newport Beach, Santa Ana and Shady Canyon was held on May 22nd at Shady Canyon Golf Club.

The two best ball format brought a tight battle between the competitive teams. Santa Ana and Shady Canyon were on top of the leaderboard after the Front 9, with only one-stoke separating the teams.

Brian Gunson, Shady Canyon Director of Golf, boosted his team past Santa Ana with a long birdie putt, on Hole 17. With a total of 7 birdies, Shady Canyon Mens Champion, Eoin Middaugh was the tournament MVP and awarded the Gordon Bowley Celebration Award.

Host team, Shady Canyon rose the trophy with a final score of –14. Santa Ana ended with a –12, followed by Big Canyon with a –11. Mesa Verde finished with a –10 and Newport Beach ended with a –7.
