Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: Certified Pre-Owned Programs
When it comes to CPO warranty coverage, both Lexus and Mercedes-Benz offer plenty of benefits, including rigorous inspections, a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report, and no deductible. When you look more closely; however, you’ll notice more advantages to the Mercedes-Benz CPO Program vs. Lexus CPO Program, such as:
The Mercedes-Benz CPO Warranty is transferable; the Lexus CPO Warranty isn’t.
Both programs offer trip interruption coverage, however, you’ll get an extra $100 per day for up to three days with the Mercedes-Benz CPO Progam.
Not satisfied with your certified pre-owned vehicle? Mercedes-Benz allows you to exchange your CPO vehicle for another within 7 days or 500 miles — whichever comes first.
Lexus vs. Mercedes-Benz: Sedans
C-Class vs. Lexus IS: Compared to the Lexus IS 300, the C 300 Sedan is more powerful; it houses a 255-hp 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine, while the IS houses a 241-hp 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder. Despite being more powerful, the C-Class is more efficient. With its base engine, the C 300 earns a 23 mpg city/34 mpg highway rating. The IS 300 earns a 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway rating.
E-Class vs. Lexus LS: With a starting MSRP of $53,500, the E-Class is less expensive than the Lexus LS (which starts at $75,450). Even so, the E-Class is tough to beat when it comes to features; it outclasses the pricier LS with 64-color ambient interior lighting, PRESAFE® Sound, Car-to-X Communication, and steering wheel-mounted Touch Controls.
S-Class vs. Lexus LS: Compared to the Lexus LS, the S-Class has a higher starting MSRP but makes up for it with plenty of exclusive features. The S-Class includes many of the E-Class features like 64-color ambient lighting and PRESAFE® Sound but also features a standard 13-speaker sound system and optional Night View Assist PLUS®.
Lexus vs. Mercedes-Benz: SUVs
GLA vs. Lexus NX: With a starting MSRP of $33,950, the Lexus NX starts at nearly $3,000 more than the GLA. The NX’s engine produces more power, but it isn’t as economical as the GLA’s. The GLA earns 24 mpg city/33 mpg highway, while the NX earns 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway.
GLC vs. Lexus RX: The GLC comes standard with features like authentic wood trim, memory settings for the driver’s seat, and 19.4 cubic feet of cargo space. The Lexus RX isn’t as well-equipped and offers just 18.4 cubic feet of cargo room. Surprisingly, the GLC costs about $3,000 less than the RX.
GLS vs. Lexus LX: The GLS starts at $70,150, while the Lexus LX 570 goes for a cool $86,230. Inside the LX, you’ll find genuine wood trim, driver memory settings, and a cargo cover. Of course, you can also find those features inside the GLS — and for much less. Additionally, the GLS offers 93.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume — 10.7 cubic feet more than the LX.
