Performance

You’ll find that the new GLA and X1 are both furnished with a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine that generates up to 258 Ib-ft of torque. Additionally, the GLA 250 includes standard ECO-START® and the BMW X1 comes with Auto Start/Stop. Both systems were specifically engineered to optimize fuel-efficiency and save drivers money at the fuel pumps. However, a closer look reveals that the GLA SUV’s fuel-saving system helps it achieve greater EPA-estimated ratings: 24 mpg city/33 mpg highway. The BMW X1 offers one mile per gallon less in the city and on the highway.

  • Active Brake Assist: With the help of radar technology, this system can inform you if a collision is likely to occur by analyzing your speed and/or distance from a vehicle or stationary object ahead.
  • ATTENTION ASSIST®: This driver attention monitor measures up to 70 different parameters of driving behavior and alerts you if signs of drowsiness are detected.
