Performance & Fuel-Efficiency

The 2018 C-Class C 300 and 2018 Audi A4 are motivated by 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engines. At the base level, the A4 outputs 11 more horsepower than the C-Class, but both break even at 273 lb-ft of torque. Handling-wise, both sedans excel in their own respects, but only the C 300 comes standard with a 9-speed automatic transmission and driver-selectable drive modes, courtesy of DYNAMIC SELECT®. With this program, you can switch between ECO, Comfort, Sport, Sport, and Individual settings as you cruise through Laguna Beach.

Comfort & Technology

Nowhere is luxury more defined than in the cabin of a premium sedan. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4 are two such examples. Inside, you’ll find features like a multi-function steering wheel, split-folding rear seats, an infotainment display, and a garage door opener. Unlike the A4, though, the C-Class includes the following features for its entry-level trim:

  • Genuine Wood Trim: The C-Class comes standard with Natural Grain Brown Ash wood trim on the center floor console, doors, and instrument panel.
  • Driver Memory Settings: The driver’s seat inside the C-Class stores up to three seating positions, and includes seat-shaped controls to make finding the right position for you easier.
  • Memory-Adjustable Exterior Mirrors: Memory settings aren’t exclusive to the driver’s seat; the exterior mirrors recall your preferred settings each time you take the wheel.

Safety Features

While luxury is a choice, safety is a must. Advanced safety technology is a staple for both the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4; you’ll find a pre-collision system, forward collision mitigation with automatic braking, and a rearview camera on both. Despite its similarities to the A4, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers greater reassurance, as it comes standard with emergency SOS, roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle tracking (Mercedes-Benz mbrace®). Telematics for the Audi A4, or Audi connect CARE, are optional.
