The charge port in the rear fender eases attachment of compatible DC and AC charging devices
The AMG EQS is the first model based on a dedicated platform whose architecture is dedicated to luxury-class electric vehicles
Sport front seats combine the sumptuous comfort and dramatic "draped" upholstery tailoring of the standard AMG EQS seats with added support
The AMG-specific electric motors at the front and rear axles are permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM). The decided emphasis on performance is readily evident in the output and torque values.
The new Mercedes AMG EQS is equipped with a powerful 400-volt battery manufactured using the latest lithium-ion technology. The optimized active material consists of nickel, cobalt and manganese in a ratio of 8:1:1.
The system continuously distributes the drive torque between the front and rear axles, depending on the driving situation. The electro-specific system ensures a significantly faster response; the torque is checked 10,000 times per minute and adjusted if necessary.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS is not only a top performer when it comes to driving dynamics, but also in handling safety. This is amply demonstrated by the AMG high-performance compound brake system with six-piston brake calipers, and single-piston brake calipers at the rear.
The driver can adjust the level of recuperation in three stages via switches on the steering wheel, and receive situation-related support from the ECO Assistant. Combined braking can take place until standstill.
The battery can be charged with up to 200 kW at quick-charging stations with direct current. In this case, power for up to another 300 kilometers (WLTP) can be "topped off" after just 19 minutes.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS is equipped with the innovative MBUX Hyperscreen as standard. This large, curved screen unit extends from A-pillar to A-pillar. Three screens sit under a glass cover and appear to merge seamlessly into one.
The AMG EQS brings a new, powerfully sonorous sound to electric driving. Its sound system uses special loudspeakers, subwoofers and a sound generator to create a special sound experience in two versions: "Authentic" or "Performance".
64-Color LED Ambient Lighting lets you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting glows along the dash, door trim, and even the outline of each front seatback. A breakthrough in automobile cockpit control, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience is further enhanced in the EQS.

What's the difference between Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 (DCFC) charging?
Level 1 is charging at home with a 120-volt circuit (i.e., using a standard electrical outlet). This normally provides 3-5 miles of charging per hour.
Level 2 is charging with a 240-volt circuit in the home or workplace. This requires professional installation of either a NEMA 14-50 outlet or a hardwired charging station, and can usually refill your EV battery overnight.
Level 3 or Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) uses a 480-volt DC circuit, and typically provides about an 80% charge in just 30 minutes. These charging stations are generally found at commercial sites such as shopping centers or highway rest areas.
