Mercedes-Benz Active Night View Assist Plus Offers New Safety Feature in 2011

Mercedes-Benz Active Night View Assist Plus offers Mercedes-Benz drivers the ability to more aptly detect pedestrians on the road by highlighting them on the display in the instrument cluster. The innovative safety device warns driver's to proceed with more caution and has been included in Mercedes-Benz's luxury-class models since 2009. It was first introduced in late 2005 as the Night View Assist system and was integrated with the redesigned S-class. Over half of the global orders for Mercedes-Benz S-Class includes the system.

Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Unveiled by the French

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class has been revealed by a French promotional video for the German auto maker.

The video clip shows SLK-Class in its full SLS AMG-inspired glory. Design highlights include front quarter vents, adaptive headlights (with LED daytime running lights), an integrated trunk-lid spoiler and LED taillights.  The optional AMG package adds a revised front fascia (with LED fog lights), AMG wheels, and cross-drilled brakes.

Mercedes-Benz and Renault Trade Engines

Renault and Mercedes-Benz are going to make beautiful engine noise and horsepower together. Renault will apparently make available its new 1.6 liter diesel power plant to Mercedes-Benz for the A and B-Class starting next year. That new 1.6 liter diesel comes with an output of 128 bhp.

Mercedes-Benz is sharing as well: by supplying Renault with a 2.0 liter gasoline unit, as well as granting access to its range of V6 and V8 engines.

Mercedes-Benz Boss Pledges Commitment to Formula One

Mercedes said it is committed to Formula One despite a disappointing season during 2010.

At the start of the season, Mercedes had hoped to challenge for the drivers' and constructors' titles.

However, they were unable to mount a serious threat to their rivals, ultimately settling for fourth in the constructors' race.

Despite this disappointment, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche insisted there was no doubt that Mercedes would continue its involvement in the sport.

"We have been in Formula One for some time and we're staying there for the longer term," he told the DPA news agency.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Leaked

Mercedes-Benz is still working on the all new C-Class, which has been kept under wraps for months. But it looks like the C-Class has been leaked online.

Apparently, the first official drawings of the 2011 Mercedes C-Class facelift came to life on German auto site "AutoBild" - however, many car journalists remain skeptical.

The pictures show an updated sedan with revised front end, new hood, and SL-inspired headlights with LED turn signals. Inside, the cabin has been completely revamped. Dashboard and instrument cluster have been totally overhauled. There's also an integrated COMAND display for navigation and entertainment purposes.

Mercedes-Benz Goes Blue

Mercedes-Benz is bringing to the public their full line up of fuel efficient vehicles. But they are not jumping on the "Green" bandwagon. Instead, Mercedes-Benz is going Blue - with the Mercedes-Benz S320 BlueEfficiency drive vehicle.

This S class luxury sedan will be the first to include a fuel efficient engine and better handling, more controlled steering and even more aerodynamic designs.

According to Mercedes-Benz, some advanced technological advances have lowered the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of new model variants by some ten per cent compared to its predecessor.
