Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus at the Frankfurt motor show on Tuesday.
The Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus is a plug-in hybrid with a 100 kW (136 PS / 134 hp) electric motor which provides a continuous output of 70 kW (95 PS / 94 hp). The on-board engine is a 50 kW (68 PS / 67 hp) petrol unit which charges the battery at low speeds but can kick in at high speeds to drive the front wheels together with the electric motor. The transmission is a newly developed automatic from Mercedes-Benz.
In combined driving, the Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus features a CO2 quotient of just 32 g/km and a range of up to 600 km (373 miles). In emissions-free (all-electric) mode range is 100 km (62 miles).
The Concept B-Class E-Cell Plus also features a host a Mercedes-Benz technologies, such as the Collision Prevention Assist.
